Brows By Jo
Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
This policy takes effect on 21 October 2026.
Who we are
This website is run by Brows By Jo (Joanne Scott), 2 Church Walk, Banbury, OX16 5NY, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information you share with us through it. You can reach us at info@browsbyjo.com or on 07736 349503.
This policy explains what information the website collects, why, who helps us process it and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). It covers this website only. When you book through Booksy, or message us on WhatsApp or on Instagram, those services handle your information under their own privacy policies.
Information you send us through our form
Our consultation form asks for your name, your email address and your message. We use these details only to answer your enquiry and to arrange the treatments you ask about. Our lawful basis is your request to us, and our legitimate interest in replying to it.
When you press Send, your message is delivered to our own mailbox by email through Resend, an email delivery service. A copy of each enquiry is also saved to a private Google Sheet that only Brows By Jo uses as a backup record of enquiries. We do not send you an automatic reply and we do not add you to any mailing list.
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep normal business records, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
Spam protection
Our form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a form is being sent by a person and not an automated program. To do this, Turnstile looks at technical information from your browser, such as your IP address and browser details. The form also contains a hidden field that people never see, which helps us filter out automated spam.
Visitor statistics
On our live website we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service from Google, to count visits and see which pages are used. It loads only after you first touch, scroll or press a key on a page, or a few seconds after the page has loaded. It records things like the pages you view, the type of device and browser you use, roughly where in the world you are and how you reached the site. Google Analytics does not log or store your IP address. We use this only to understand how the website is used and to improve it, never to identify you.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from another. You can stop this by blocking cookies in your browser settings or by using Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This website does not use advertising tools and it does not use a Meta (Facebook) Pixel.
Content from other services
Some parts of the website show content provided by other services. Each of these may receive technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, when that content loads, and may set its own cookies:
- Our Google reviews and our Instagram feed are shown through Fouita widgets. They load when you scroll near them.
- The map is provided by Google Maps. It loads only when you press the button to show it.
- Google's preferred source button is loaded from Google when you scroll near it or interact with the page. It lets you choose to see more of our updates in Google Search.
- Links to book take you to Booksy, and links to WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and IMDb take you to those services. Nothing is shared with them until you follow a link.
These services handle that information under their own privacy policies.
Cookies and your browser
This website does not set its own cookies and does not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics, described above, sets analytics cookies on our live website. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect it from automated attacks. If you choose the light or dark colour theme in the footer, that choice is saved in your own browser (local storage) so the site remembers it on your next visit. It is never sent to us.
Hosting and security
The website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the pages to you and to protect the site from attacks. Every page is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK; where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK law.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers named in this policy, who process it to run the website and deliver your enquiry, or when the law requires us to.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask us to move it to another organisation. To do so, email info@browsbyjo.com or call 07736 349503. We will answer within one month and may need to confirm who you are first.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the website handles personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
